The seller gets $1.00 for each CD sold (details below)
Current Prices
- CD retail prices are $5.56
- Sales tax of 8% brings the total to $6.00
- The seller receives $1.00

- Cortland Music reserves $2.00 for CD manufacture.
- The balance (about $1.50) goes to the Cultural Council of Cortland County to support the Classical Music Festival Series.

Consignment Sales When: Cortland Music Handles the Sales Tax

Variations
- Sellers can designate all or part of their $1.00/CD to someone else. This could be to:
- The Cultural Council
- The musicians who made the recording
- Girl Scouts
- Cortland Youth Bureau
- Bobby Whatshisname
- or whoever
- Musicians can also make a similar designation.
Anticipated Changes to This Plan
Within about a year, there will be some changes made to this plan that will probably include the following.
- CD's will be made for which Copyright Royalties must be paid. There will be a resulting increase in the selling price, but the
seller's "cut" will still be $1.00.
- Presently there are two recordings available; a year from now there will probably be at least 10. So I may find in necessary to limit the total number of CD's given to individual sellers. Retail businesses will probably still be offered 5 copies of each.
